GOP _ Urban Design

A new skyline for the city of Göppingen. This new masterplan proposes a permeable and iconic skyline along the existing railway areal and the river Fils. A green zone connects the new urban quarters to the main station. The urban plaza in front of Göppingen main station welcomes visitors with a figuration of three distinct topographies, resembling the mountains around the city.
These artificial hills orient visitors in front of the station building and connect them to the the old city and pedestrian areas.
